The basic principle of pressure swing adsorption is that the adsorbent has different adsorption capacity for the adsorbent under different pressures, and has selective adsorption characteristics for each component of the separated gas mixture under a certain pressure. Under the condition of adsorbent selection, the impurities in the raw material gas are removed by pressurized adsorption, and the impurities are removed under reduced pressure so that the adsorbent can be regenerated. Therefore, two adsorption towers are generally used, and the combined pressure of each adsorption tower by alternating cycles can achieve the purpose of continuous separation of the gas mixture. Because the adsorption and desorption process is achieved through PRESSURE changes, the process is called PRESSURE SWING ADSOPTION (PSA). Nitrogen production by pressure swing adsorption is a kind of air separation technology at normal temperature. Compared with traditional cryogenic air separation, it has the characteristics of simple process flow, easy equipment manufacturing and installation, wide adaptability, high degree of automation, simple operation, low operating cost and less investment.

PSA air separation nitrogen production equipment is based on air as raw material, high-quality carbon molecular sieve as adsorbent, the use of pressure swing adsorption principle (PSA), the use of molecular sieve filled with micropores, selective adsorption of air, in order to achieve the purpose of oxygen and nitrogen separation. Oxygen is preferentially adsorbed and nitrogen is obtained from non-adsorbed phase when the molecular sieve is pressurized. In this way, enriched components of nitrogen can be obtained in the gas phase. Therefore, by using the characteristics of carbon molecular sieve for oxygen and nitrogen adsorption difference in a certain time, the automatic control software carries out pressure adsorption according to a specific time program, and the cyclic process of atmospheric pressure analysis to complete the separation of oxygen and nitrogen, so as to obtain the finished nitrogen with high purity.

The device mainly uses the principle of pressure swing adsorption to separate oxygen and nitrogen in the air, and its characteristics are mainly based on the difference in the diffusion rate of the two gas molecules on the surface of the carbon molecular sieve, that is, based on the steric hindrance-dynamic effect. Because oxygen and nitrogen in the air have different diffusion rates in the carbon molecular sieve micropores, or different adsorption forces, under equilibrium conditions, the adsorption amount of oxygen and nitrogen on the carbon molecular sieve is quite close, but the diffusion rate of oxygen through the gap of the carbon molecular sieve micropores is much faster than nitrogen. We use the adsorption kinetic property of carbon molecular sieve that the adsorption rate of oxygen is much higher than that of nitrogen, so that nitrogen can be enriched and exported as product gas in a time period far from the equilibrium condition. Using the adsorbent at high temperature or low pressure can desorption characteristics, so that the adsorbent regeneration and circulation, so as to achieve the purpose of continuous output of product gas.

The device uses two adsorption towers to work, even if its periodic cycle work, each cycle time is about 120 seconds, the two adsorption towers use the principle of adsorption and regeneration, repeated adsorption and desorption operation (automatically controlled by PLC), so that the required nitrogen can be continuously obtained. In order to balance fluctuations in pressure and purity, nitrogen production can be measured and regulated by a flowmeter as required. The whole PSA operation procedure is automatically controlled by the programmable controller.

The device takes compressed air as raw material, can extract more than 99.99% purity of nitrogen, and has the advantages of simple structure, easy operation, low energy consumption, widely used in metal materials, mechanical parts protection heat treatment, petrochemical, synthetic fiber, float glass, electronics industry, etc. And the production process of nitrogen protection, fruit and vegetable insurance, grain storage anti-deterioration, traditional Chinese medicine preservative, tea color preservation and so on.
